The movie rights to the upcoming young adult novel The Diviners by Libba Bray have already been purchased by Paramount with Fake Empire’s Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage to produce.
The Diviners is a mix of historical fiction, fantasy, and mystery that follows a girl named Evie who is exiled from her hometown and shipped off to New York City to live with her Uncle Will. Before long Evie is mixed up in a mystery of rash occult-based murders taking place around her and she must help to solve who and what is behind them.
The Diviners sounds like a really interesting story that is both original and exciting. I will be interested in reading the book for sure, but it also sounds like something that could translate to the big screen very smoothly if done right.
What do you think of The Diviners movie based on the book by Libba Bray? Do you think you’ll be reading the book when it comes out later this year?
