Although Treasure Island has been turned into a movie before, a new version of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic children’s pirate tale is in the works by Warner Bros. Director Guy Ritchie has been chosen to direct the new movie from the book.
I’m sure most of us out there have at least heard of Treasure Island. The title is talked about in movies and other books constantly because the classic novel first published in the late 1800′s is just that…a classic.It’s about a boy named Jim Hawkins who finds himself in possession of a map to Treasure Island where a fabled treasure awaits! Along the way he meets friends and enemies of all sorts, and of course finds himself in all kinds of adventures.
Treasure Island is the type of story that can be told and re-told in many different ways and formats. On the tale end the famous Pirates of the Caribbean series I think movie fans are itching for some more pirate films, and there certainly aren’t enough of them. So I know at least I personally will be looking forward to seeing the Treasure Island book turned into a movie again.
