Imagine Entertainment has taken on the task of re-making the classic George Orwell novel 1984 into a movie. The book was made into a movie back in 1984, but I’m sure Hollywood is feeling the itch to tackle it again with all the new technology that has advanced since then.
If you haven’t read 1984, the book follows a man named Winston Smith who lives in a futuristic dystopian society depicting what 1984 will look like from the perspective of 1949 when the book was written. Winston tries hard to fit into the oppressive and warped society, but feels like he’s missing something, and for that very reason he’s a danger to himself.
I love the book 1984, but the movie created back in the day is rather dull and hard to watch. I’m excited to hear Imagine Entertainment will be remaking it because I think it has such potential as a great movie and with all the other newer dystopian novels being made into movies such as Hunger Games and Divergent, I think now is a great time to move forward with a project like this.
