The young adult dystopian novel Legend by Marie Lu is currently in the works to becoming a motion picture. Wyck Godfrey, producer of the Twilight movie, will be producing this one as well. The first draft of the script has already been created and things are moving along with production.
Legend is a dystopian novel that takes place in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles. It is loosely based on the classic novel Les Miserables and follows the perspectives of two teens in very different places within this post-apocalyptic society, but whose paths cross and become dependent upon each other as the novel progresses.
Young adult novels are being turned into movies more and more these days because the stories are unique and solid and they are tales which can not only appeal to the younger crowds but to adults as well, so they are movies that can attract entire families.
