Disney has announced that they are working with Marvel to create an animated movie based on the comic book Big Hero 6. No word yet on if Pixar will be involved or if it will be standard Disney animation.
Big Hero 6 is sort of like another version of The Avengers, but with different characters. In Big Hero 6, the Japanese government has created six superheros to protect the country from threats and villains.
Comic books being turned into movies have gotten very popular lately. The live action movies do well, but it’s hard to say how the animated feature will do. I think if Pixar becomes involved it will be a whole other story and has the potential to become big. But as a regular Disney animation, I’m not so sure it would be a huge hit for anyone other than ten year old boys and perhaps fans of the comic book series.
